The Hartford appoints Matt Scott to middle and large commercial insurance leadership role
US-based property/casualty insurer The Hartford has appointed Matt Scott as head of the Northeast division for the company’s middle and large commercial insurance business.
In his new role, Scott will be responsible for leading the middle and large commercial sales and underwriting operations for the company’s independent agents, brokers and their customers in the Northeast, which includes the New York City, and Southern and Northern New England regions. He will report to Tracey Ant, head of field operations for middle and large commercial insurance.
Scott joined The Hartford in 1997 and has held a number of leadership positions with the company’s claims organisation. Most recently, he was head of Hartford’s claims solutions organisation with accountability for a number of divisions, including legal operations, data analytics, claims sales and service, special investigations, and reinsurance center of excellence, among others.
“With more than 20 years of experience at The Hartford, Matt is an accomplished leader with an inspiring leadership style and deep knowledge about our Middle and Large Commercial business,” said Ant. “I am confident he will help us deepen our relationships with our agents and brokers, and continue our focus on providing specialized insurance solutions for our customers.”
