Sompo International hires EVP
Sompo International Holdings, a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, has appointed Ray Santiago as executive vice president and leader of the company’s US commercial management liability (CML) and financial institutions (FI) teams. Santiago will report to Chris Sparro, chief executive officer of US insurance, and will be based in the company’s New York office.
Santiago joins Sompo International with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He will have management oversight for Sompo International’s US CML and FI teams which will continue to be led by Joe Spallone, senior vice president, CML and Dennis Krause, senior vice president, FI, respectively. Most recently, Santiago was senior vice president of underwriting for XL Catlin’s professional liability team and prior to that he served as regional executive for AIG’s New York and Mid-Atlantic regions and the financial institutions industry leader for Willis.
