RFIB appoints ex-Aon as reinsurance CEO to ramp up growth plans in Asia
Lloyd's re/insurance broker RFIB Group has appointed Stephen Warwick as CEO reinsurance, Asia Pacific, following a strategic review of the region.
Warwick will be based in Hong Kong where he will establish a new office for RFIB. He will report to Kevin Stratton, managing director of RFIB’s specialty unit.
Warwick started his career with the Aon Group in 1980, where he held several senior positions including CEO of Aon Re Australia, MD for treaty in Asia Pacific and CEO of Greater China for Aon Benfield. In 2016, Warwick left Aon Benfield to become the co-founder of Nine Merchants Re, a Hong Kong based reinsurance venture.
Group CEO, Steven Beard commented: “Warwick’s appointment follows a strategic review of the region and seeing through on a commitment to building the leading independent broker in the fastest growing region in the world. I look forward to working with Steve and to him playing a pivotal role as part of our global leadership team.”
Stratton added: “We are delighted to welcome Steve to RFIB. Steve’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the global market and APAC region is a great strategic fit for RFIB’s international growth plans in reinsurance.
