Marsh boosts Aviation Practice in London and New York with four senior hires
Global insurance broker and risk adviser Marsh has made four senior appointments to Marsh JLT Specialty’s Aviation Practice in London and New York.
Tony Ambrose and Martyn Holland are set to join the team in London as managing directors. They will report to Andy Smith, chairman and CEO, UK Aviation Practice at Marsh JLT Specialty.
Ambrose will join the Aviation Practice in November in a senior leadership role, working across all product lines. He was previously head of aviation at Swiss Re and worked at the reinsurer from 2016. During this time he held a number of senior aviation roles.
Holland joins the Aviation Practice from Aon where he held the post of head of aerospace for the firm’s international business from 2013. In his new role at Marsh, he will focus on developing the firm’s aerospace services and solutions. He is expected to join the firm in early 2020.
Julie Meyer will join the Marsh Aviation Practice based in New York as vice president. She will focus on all aspects of general aviation.
Stephen Murray will also join the Aviation Practice based in New York to take up the post of senior vice president. He will focus on US-based general aviation and aerospace business.
They will both report to Joe Braunstein, US general aviation leader, Marsh JLT Specialty. Meyer joined the firm on 1 October and Murray is expected to join the firm later this month.
Meyer has more than 15 years’ underwriting experience and moves to her new role from Swiss Re, where she was an underwriter for general aviation US from 2015.
Murray joins from Global Aerospace, where he was an underwriting manager and focused on major general aviation and aerospace liability accounts for six years. Murray has worked at Marsh before, from 2011-2013, and played a key part in the development of Marsh’s MACH and MAPP platforms.
Simon Harker, global head of aviation at Marsh JLT Specialty, said: “Tony, Martyn, Julie, and Stephen bring a wealth of experience, insight, and expertise to our firm, which will benefit our aviation and aerospace clients globally in managing the increasingly complex risks they now face.”
