Markel taps senior underwriter from MS Amlin

Specialist insurer Markel International has hired a senior underwriter from MS Amlin for its PACE (personal accident, contingency, entertainment) team.

Peter Dickel will join Markel on November 1 and report to managing director James Leach. He will work with the existing PA team of Johan Haggo and Joanne Barry.

Dickel has over 20 years’ experience in accident and health lines, most recently as class underwriter for MS Amlin, following similar roles at WR Berkley and Torus.

“Peter has a strong market presence and broker following in his class of business and we look forward to him becoming part of our team,” Leach commented.
