Markel hires energy underwriter from Marsh in Asia
Specialty insurer Markel International has appointed Mark Nunn as energy underwriter based in Singapore.
He will report to Christian Stobbs and will work closely with Markel’s global energy team to manage and further develop Markel’s energy portfolio for the Asia Pacific region.
Nunn succeeds Tim Foister, who has returned to work alongside Markel’s energy team in London.
Nunn has over 10 years’ experience as an energy insurance specialist with insurance broker Marsh, taking on various roles and supporting clients in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry. He was most recently the energy sales leader in Asia and brings with him extensive global energy market experience.
Stobbs, managing director of Markel International in Asia, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark, whose strong energy market experience will bring great value to the team as we continue to embark on our underwriting expansion and growth ambitions.”
Rohan Davies, divisional managing director of energy for Markel International, added: “Mark’s appointment demonstrates Markel’s commitment as a long-standing energy specialist, to continuously innovate and improve its energy insurance solutions for clients in Asia, as well as the region’s wider marketplace – especially in the face of today’s rising demand for clean energy.”
