Lloyd's appoints outgoing Beazley CUO to its board
Neil Maidment, Beazley's chief underwriting officer (CUO), has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Lloyd’s board with effect from February 2019.
Maidment will retire from Beazley in December 2018 after a 34 year career within the insurance industry.
The new appointment will be effective once Maidment’s term of office on the Council of Lloyd’s comes to an end on 31 January, and is for an initial term of three years.
Maidment will continue serving as a member of Lloyd’s Risk Committee, but is stepping down as chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), where he has worked on key strategies including market modernisation and the response to Brexit.
"His appointment to the Board will ensure that his knowledge and experience will be retained for the benefit of the Lloyd’s market," said Lloyd's of London. "We would like to congratulate Neil on his appointment. His knowledge and experience will be an invaluable contribution to the work of the Board."
