Insurer CFC acquires US-based cyber incident firm Solis Security
Specialist insurance provider CFC has bought Solis Security, a Texas-based incident response provider, to increase its in-house cyber incident response capabilities.
The insurer said its cyber claims and incident response teams have handled nearly 1,500 cyber claims in 2019 alone. With the acquisition of Solis Security, the company said it has “deepened its bench of highly skilled in-house technical experts who form the frontline response to any client cyber event”, from data breaches and malicious cyber attacks to system outages.
David Walsh, CEO of CFC, said the addition of Solis allowed his firm to “greatly expand” its cyber incident response service and give customers “even faster resolutions… greatly reducing their business downtime and costs”.
He added: “Having worked closely with Solis over the years, we know they have one of the most technically skilled and experienced incident response teams in the market, and we’re eager to bring them on board.”
CFC’s in-house cyber claims and incident response team is closely aligned with the company’s cyber underwriting team and the insurer claims it operates “the world’s first cyber incident response app”.
Terry Oehring, CEO of Solis Security, said: “CFC is a cyber insurance provider that truly understands the challenges their clients face when it comes to managing and recovering from a cyber attack. We’re excited to join the CFC team in offering cutting-edge cyber incident response services to our clients around the world.”
