Hudson Structured Capital Management hires former Validus CFO Jeff Sangster
Re/insurer Hudson Structured Capital Management (HSCM Bermuda) has appointed Jeff Sangster to the post of partner, chief financial officer (CFO) and head of strategy.
Sangster will take over from Jason Carne, who had served as partner and CFO since 2018, and an advisory board member to HSCM since 2017. Carne has concurrently been named partner and executive chairman of finance.
Prior to joining HSCM, Sangster served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Validus Holdings from February 2013 to August 2018. He joined Validus in October 2006 and served in various finance positions, including chief accounting officer and chief financial officer of Validus Reinsurance.
Sangster has over 21 years of experience and prior to Validus held various positions with Endurance Specialty Holdings, Centre Group and Ernst & Young.
Michael Millette, managing partner of HSCM, said: “Having worked with Jeff for many years and witnessed his care, effectiveness and strategic insight, we are delighted to welcome him to our senior team. Jason Carne has built a first-rate finance team and we look forward to continuing to work with him as we grow.”
Sangster commented: “Hudson is a rapidly expanding, innovative organisation that has a unique approach to capital management. I am excited to join Michael and the talented team that has been established to explore and create opportunities for investment outperformance.”
