HDI reshuffles Italian management; managing director Semprini departs after 13 years
Industrial lines insurer HDI Global SE's managing director Francesco Semprini is leaving after almost 13 years by "amicable and mutual agreement" to purse new opportunities outside the company.
He will be replaced by Alberto Bellomi, currently chief underwriting officer for HDI in Italy, responsible for the property, casualty, group accident, energy, marine, engineering and aviation business lines.
Bellomi will take over as head of HDI Global SE / Italy branch from November 1, 2019.
Bellomi has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance sector. Prior to his time with HDI, he spent many years with Gerling on both the underwriting and claims sides in the period up to 2007.
“The company thanks Francesco Semprini for his successful work and his loyalty over all these years and wishes him all the best and every success in his future career and personal endeavours,” said David Hullin, the board member at HDI Global SE responsible for the European division Europe.
Hullin added: “Alberto Bellomi has seen all aspects of the industrial insurance business from different perspectives. He is well connected on the local market, knows our customers and local distribution partners very well and will ensure that HDI continues to expand its strong presence and proximity to local customers and brokers. His high level of acceptance within the branch is also an important stabilizing factor in such a change of management.”
