Hamilton Underwriting poaches CFO from WR Berkley
Hamilton Underwriting, the managing agency of Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, has recruited a new chief financial officer from WR Berkley.
Robert Vetch was previously CFO of WRB Underwriting, for nine years. Prior to that, he was finance business partner at Brit Global Markets. His experience also includes seven years at QBE Insurance Group and four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in insurance and investment management.
Reporting to CEO Dermot O’Donohoe, Vetch succeeds Simon Barrett who left Hamilton in December 2018.
“It’s my pleasure to welcome Rob to the Hamilton team,” said O’Donohoe. “We pride ourselves on attracting some of the best talent in the business, and Rob falls squarely into that category. As we continue to explore opportunities for profitable and sustainable growth, Rob’s experience and financial acumen will stand us in good stead.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Simon Barrett, who was with us virtually from the beginning of our establishment and who played an integral role in laying the groundwork for our development as a diversified specialty syndicate. We wish Simon every success in his future endeavours.”
