Global Risk Partners snaps up Cardiff broker to expand presence in South Wales

UK insurance broker County Group,  Global Risk Partners' (GRP) North West hub, has acquired the business and assets of PG Insurance, a Cardiff-based community broker.

The acquisition was completed on March 1.

County chief executive officer Alastair Christopherson explained the acquisition will play a key role in supporting its ambitious plans for extending its footprint in South Wales.

Christopherson said: “It’s great to begin 2022 with an acquisition and PG Insurance is an excellent and well run local business that will boost our presence in South Wales, which is an important growth area for the Group.”

Graham Tatham, founder of PG Insurance, said: “We couldn’t be happier to become part of County Group, Alastair and his team quickly understood our business and offered their full support for our future plans.”

“We look forward to becoming part of a bigger operation in South Wales; all our people are staying on under new ownership and we are confident that we will make the most of the opportunities emerging in our sector post-pandemic.”
