Gallagher buys MGA to tap growth opportunities in Texas, US

Arthur J Gallagher has acquired a Texan-based managing general agency with expertise in commercial and personal insurance.

Gallagher's US wholesale brokerage, binding authority and programmes division Risk Placement Services (RPS) has bought Cedar Park, Texas-based Tejas American General Agency (TAGA).

Founded in 1997, TAGA is a managing general agency offering commercial, farm and personal insurance products to independent agents throughout Texas.

Following the deal, Bart Koch, Anita Herzog, Cindy Yurkovich, Richard Salley and their team will remain in their current location under the direction of Kevin Doyle, VP-Western Region & Chicago for RPS.
