Everest taps new E&S casualty leader from Chubb
Bermuda-based Everest Re Group has appointed insurer Chubb's Eric Koppang to the Everest Insurance specialty casualty team within the excess and surplus (E&S) casualty unit.
Koppang has 30 years of insurance industry experience, including 23 years in the E&S casualty space. Prior to joining Everest Insurance, he was most recently at Chubb, where he led the Westchester E&S Casualty group as senior vice president. Koppang established Westchester’s Chicago office where he managed the E&S primary and excess casualty groups for the Midwest, and was named the construction practice leader.
In his new role as vice president and head of E&S casualty, based out of the Everest Insurance's Chicago office, Koppang will report to head of specialty casualty Connie Germano. Koppang will be responsible for developing new products, product enhancements, and helping lead the continued expansion of the E&S primary casualty unit in the wholesale space.
“We are very pleased Eric has joined us to lead the E&S Casualty unit," Germano said. "With his vast experience derived from various industry leadership roles and his strong technical underwriting acumen, we are confident he will be a tremendous asset to Everest Insurance as we continue to innovate and solve our clients’ and trading partners’ most challenging problems.”
