Combined Insurance recruits new president from Aflac

Combined Insurance, a Chubb company that provides supplemental accident, health, disability and life insurance products, has named Richard Williams as president.

Williams joins from Aflac, where he was a member of its global executive management team and most recently served as president of the group benefits business. He also led the growth strategy and distribution efforts for Aflac in the US, consistently delivering quarterly profits, and the launch of its new businesses of network dental and vision, group life, absence, and disability, and direct to consumer (D2C).

Before that he held a series of leadership positions, including at Unum US, Colonial Life and Aetna.

In his new role Williams oversees all Combined business operations, management and growth strategies, reporting to Joe Vasquez, who has led Combined since late 2019.

Vasquez remains in his position as senior vice president of Chubb Group and head of its worldwide accident and health insurance business.
Vasquez called Williams “an exceptional executive, with remarkable breadth of experience in the insurance industry and a long track record of delivering strong results."

Williams said: "With a strong leadership team, the backing of Chubb, and several transformative initiatives in motion, Combined is poised to capitalise on evolving market trends.”
