CAC Specialty taps up Colin Daly to co-lead its Financial Lines Practice
CAC Specialty has appointed Colin Daly to co-lead of its Financial Lines Practice (FLP) as he takes up the post of executive vice president.
Daly joins CAC Specialty from JLT Specialty US, where he was a founding member who helped shape the US business. At JLT he helped form and grow the Financial Lines Group nationally. Before working at JLT, he served as the national leader of Aon's Financial Services Group. Daly started his career as an underwriter at the Chubb Group.
Paul Sparks, chairman of CAC Specialty, said: "Colin is a proven leader given his past success of managing a large national practice with one of the largest brokerage firms in the world and then taking that experience and successfully building one of fastest-growing financial lines brokerage businesses.”
Daly will work alongside Darren Sonderman as co-leader of the newly-formed FLP.
They will be responsible for attracting talent, clients, and carrier partners that will mutually develop solutions in the D&O, Cyber, E&O, EPL, Fidelity, Fiduciary and Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion Liability product lines. They will also work closely with the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice to appropriately align transaction liability products, due diligence and restructuring offerings with FLP clients.
Daly said: "I am very excited to be working with Darren and a team with such unbelievable talent and experience.
“In a very short amount of time, CAC Specialty has become the brokerage firm of choice for highly successful D&O and Cyber professionals. Given the current market conditions, there is no time like the present to have an experienced brokerage option with individuals that have always put clients first."
Sonderman commented: “This is a people business and it is tremendously exciting to be teaming up with Colin and dozens of other professionals that are the best in the business.
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to innovate and partner with highly successful professionals in the insurance brokerage, investment banking and analytics arena; to bring unparalleled risk management value to our clients.”
