Barbican swoops for Chubb cyber specialist
Barbican Insurance Group has appointed Lauren Webb as a class underwriter for cyber within Lloyd’s Syndicate 1955. She joins from property/casualty insurer Chubb.
Webb has spent half of her 14-year underwriting career working in the cyber insurance sector. Most recently, she was the London cyber underwriting manager at Chubb. She joined the firm in 2011 as a senior PI and cyber underwriter. Prior to this, she worked at RSA as a PI underwriter.
Graeme King, business group leader for cyber at Barbican, said: “The cyber insurance market is still evolving at a phenomenal pace. Such speed of evolution demands the guidance of experienced underwriters, which is why we are delighted that Lauren is joining us. She has a very strong understanding of cyber risk and will play a key role in developing new solutions and helping drive our growth.”
Webb added: “I am excited to have joined the cyber team at Barbican. This is a highly motivating and dynamic environment and the team have been at the forefront of developments in the cyber sphere for many years. They continue to stay ahead by creating products, such as Barbican Cyber OSA, tailored to the evolving cyber profiles of their clients. I am looking forward to playing my part in their continuing success.”
