AXA XL appoints Paul-Henri Rastoul as Chief Underwriting Officer, XL Insurance Company SE
Reinsurer AXA XL has appointed Paul-Henri Rastoul as chief underwriting officer at XL Insurance Company SE.
Rastoul will be based in Dublin with responsibility for developing core underwriting strategies and optimising products for wholly owned subsidiary XLICSE as well as joining AXA XL’s International Property & Casualty (P&C) leadership team.
XLICSE provides insurance in Europe and Asia through a network of branches, subsidiaries and third-party partners.
Rastoul take on his new role with 27 years’ experience in insurance. He has been with AXA since 1992, and began his career as a corporate finance lawyer with AXA Group. He then held senior positions, including president director of PT Asuransi AXA Indonesia, chief technical officer and executive committee member at AXA Spain. He was also group head of commercial lines and reinsurance regional director at AXA Global P&C, chief underwriter and chief claims officer at AXA France, and senior vice president and chief underwriter at AXA Asia Regional.
Most recently, he was president director at Mandiri AXA General Insurance and commissioner at AXA Mandiri Financial Services.
