Aon welcomes new recruit to its Life Reinsurance Solutions team in Australia.
Global broker Aon has appointed Robert Rice as a life reinsurance specialist in its Life Reinsurance Solutions team in Australia.
A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries UK and the Actuarial Society of South Africa, Rice will focus on enhancing and delivering Aon’s Life Reinsurance advisory and risk management solutions proposition to the Australian market, at a time where industry-wide poor performance and regulatory intervention are at centre stage.
Rice has recently emigrated from South Africa to take on this new role, and brings 14 years of experience in banking, wealth management and life re/insurance to Aon. Prior to this, he held an executive position in life insurance and innovation at Standard Bank Group in Johannesburg.
Danny Alexander, head of life reinsurance at Aon Australia, said: “Following an extensive search for the role we are delighted to welcome Rob into this newly created position, supporting our life reinsurance strategic initiative into the next phase of growth for the business. The life insurance market continues to be challenged to innovate and respond to the many industry-wide issues facing us. Rob will be responsible for supporting our clients in designing and structuring solutions which respond to the many emerging risks faced by the life insurance industry.”
Rice said: “I am thrilled to work alongside such a talented team at Aon in becoming a trusted adviser to the life insurance market on risk, capital and balance sheet challenges.
“I am really looking forward to supporting the Aon United approach, generating custom solutions for each of our clients’ unique situations, which set Aon apart from the market in delivering real value to our clients.”
