Allianz taps Marsh aviation risk expert for AGCS
Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Nicholas Pooley as the new aviation major risks product lead for North America, based in New York.
Pooley joins AGCS from Marsh and McLennan, where he served as senior vice president responsible for aviation risk management consulting and strategic leadership.
Pooley has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. Prior to Marsh & McLennan, he was with Willis Group Holdings, where he served as vice president providing risk management consulting to a large group of middle-market aviation clients. He began his insurance career with Lloyd’s of London as a claims underwriter.
In his new role, Pooley will be tasked with the development and execution of aviation major risks strategy, new products, and leading a team of senior underwriters within the airline, aerospace, and other aviation-related industries. He will report directly to David Warfel, regional head of aviation, North America.
“Nick’s brand of international experience, client relationships and industry knowledge are unmatched,” Warfel commented. “He’ll be instrumental in expanding our portfolio, and we are thrilled to welcome him on board.”
“Our clients are always top priority. By growing our Aviation team with industry leaders like Nick, we are further proving our commitment to best-in-class customer service and industry-leading product innovations,” Warfel added.
