Acrisure Re taps Ed Broking and Securis ILS to bolster team
Acrisure Re, the reinsurance division of broker Acrisure, has bolstered its presence in London and Bermuda with hires from Ed Broking and Securis ILS.
Ian Wicks joins as executive vice president based in London. He will report to partner, Nigel Dane. His new role at Acrisure Re will focus on the casualty side of the business with a broader strategic role in the reinsurance division.
Simon Arnott (pictured) joins as senior vice president, based in Bermuda. He will report to Clark Hontz, president of Acrisure Re Bermuda. Arnott will be responsible for sourcing new business and expanding Acrisure Re’s property cat and retro offerings. He will also support the wider team in growing current accounts and developing long-lasting relationships across the market.
Wicks joins Acrisure Re from Ed Broking where he was chairman of the non-marine reinsurance division. He has also previously held roles at various London market reinsurance broking companies including Harman, Wicks & Swayne, Willis Re, and JLT Re.
Arnott joins from Securis ILS Management, where for three years he was head of business development for the non-life division. Prior to this, he spent 16 years at Tokio Millennium Re in Bermuda where he most recently held the positions of executive vice president and head of catastrophe lines.
Hontz said: “I am delighted to welcome Simon to the Bermuda team. His vast experience in structuring and pricing programs, extensive knowledge of the ILS market and broad network of global market relationships will significantly enhance our production capabilities and market insights. I look forward to working with him.”
Dane commented: “I am so pleased to welcome Ian to our casualty team in London and look forward to working with him as we expand our footprint in third party lines. His knowledge and breadth of contacts will be invaluable.”
Simon Hedley, CEO of Acrisure Re, added: “I have known Ian and Simon for a long time, and they are both excellent additions to our team. Their wealth of knowledge and industry experience will further enhance our offering.”
