The Hanover poaches senior Zurich Insurance exec to lead specialty
US-based property/casualty insurer The Hanover Insurance Group has appointed Bryan Salvatore as executive vice president and president of specialty.
Salvatore joins The Hanover after 20 years with Zurich North America, where he served for the past nearly five years as president of the company's $2.2 billion specialty products business. Previously, he led the rebuilding of Zurich's presence in the accident and health insurance space, successfully repositioning the business, expanding its product offerings and distribution.
Prior to joining Zurich in 1997, Salvatore was a director in the programmes division of brokerage firm Frank Crystal & Co.
In his new role at The Hanover, Salvatore will lead the company's domestic specialty business, leveraging and expanding its capabilities to help the company's agent partners capitalize on the increasing opportunities in the specialty business.
"We are very excited to have Bryan join our company and our executive leadership team," Joseph Zubretsky, president and CEO of The Hanover, commented. "I look forward to working with Bryan in this key leadership role, as we expand our domestic specialty business and advance our Hanover 2021 strategy, providing our agent partners with more products and services to meet their existing and new customers' evolving needs, creating opportunities in the wholesale E&S business in the US, and taking advantage of synergies between our domestic specialty business and our international business, Chaucer, to benefit both.”
Zubretsky added: "Bryan brings tremendous experience and insight to our organization - attributes we expect will prove to be of great value as we work to further strengthen our competitive position and take our company to the next level."
