Neon names head of its new political violence team
Neon has expanded its political violence team with the appointment of Greg McPhee as its head, effective October 1.
Reporting to Darren Lednor, chief underwriter officer at Neon, McPhee’s appointment is part of Neon’s plan to expand its profile in this market.
McPhee has almost 35 years of experience in broking and underwriting, having most recently served as a senior broker at THB Group, where he developed several terrorism facilities.
Prior to this, he has held senior roles in the terrorism space at BMS Group, Benfield, RFIB and Alexander Forbes.
Martin Reith, chief executive officer of Neon Underwriting, commented: "We are delighted to have attracted someone of Gregg's experience and specialism to lead our political violence team as we look to enhance our profile and increase our relevance in this market.
“Neon has been offering political violence insurance for a number of years and, although this is a highly competitive market, demand remains high.
“As Neon continues to add more short tail lines to our syndicate, political violence will be a core line that complements our direct property underwriting. This appointment is another demonstration of Neon’s ability to attract some of the market’s best talent."
McPhee added: "I am very pleased to be joining Neon at this exciting time. It is rapidly building an impressive underwriting platform - I am looking forward to leading and growing the political violence offering at Neon and am confident we can establish Neon as a leading insurer in the sector."
