Markel International appoints new board members
Specialist insurer Markel International has appointed Hannah Purves and Simon Wilson to the boards of Markel Syndicate Management and Markel International Insurance Company.
Purves has been Markel’s director of claims since the beginning of 2013 and was previously head of claims for the political and contingency group at Beazley. Prior to that, she was a solicitor in private practice at Mayer Brown, focused on insurance and reinsurance business.
Wilson has been head of Markel’s national markets business, which deals with national and regional broker’s domestic business, since 2015, having previously been director of international development. He joined Markel in 2010 from being managing director of Lloyd’s Asia.
