Liberty hires Deutsche Bank exec to expand global financial risks
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Sam Wilde as senior underwriter – global financial risks (GFR).
Based in LSM's London headquarters, he will report to Huw Owen, global financial risks – head of London markets.
In his new role, Wilde will focus on underwriting credit transactions for GFR’s broad client base of corporates, banks, financial institutions and development finance institutions.
Prior to joining LSM in March, Wilde worked in the banking and trade finance sectors. Most recently, he spent six years with Deutsche Bank in London as a director in the structured commodity trade finance team, and also as an emerging markets credit officer. Prior to that, he held a number of positions with UBS’s credit risk team covering a broad range of clients and asset classes.
"We are very excited to have someone of Sam’s calibre and experience joining the GFR team," said Peter Sprent, LSM’s head of global financial risks. "His experience in both credit and structuring are an excellent addition to our underwriting capabilities and will enhance our ability to provide creative solutions to our clients in the London market."
