Liberty hires chief technology officer from Chubb
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Max Gibbs as its new chief technology officer.
Based in LSM’s London headquarters, Gibbs will report to the president and managing director Nick Metcalf.
Gibbs most recently served as the chief information officer, Europe, at Chubb. Prior to that, he was the CIO for ACE European Group. He also held the roles of European P&C Systems Director and European IT Services Manager.
In his new role, Gibbs will be responsible for delivering the overall strategic direction of LSM’s IT while ensuring it is fully aligned with the wider Liberty Mutual Group. A large part of this will be the planning and delivery of the IT applications and services needed to achieve the business’s commercial objectives.
"In a world of increasing technological change, Max’s depth and breadth of experience will guide our IT development, providing our underwriters and claims experts with the tools they need to benefit our policyholders," Metcalf commented. "He has a proven track record of successfully leading business-orientated IT functions in a complex environment."
