Generali ropes in Europ Assistance CEO for group strategy role
Italian insurance group Generali has appointed Bruno Scaroni, current chief executive officer of Europ Assistance Italy, to the position of group strategy and business accelerator director.
Scaroni replaces Gian Paolo Meloncelli in the new role who is leaving the group to pursue new professional opportunities, the company said.
Scaroni will maintain the operational role in Europ Assistance Italy until the appointment of the new CEO. Europ Assistance Italy is entirely owned by Generali Group.
Scaroni joined Generali group in March 2013 as chief distribution officer of Generali Italy. In October 2014, he was appointed CEO of Europ Assistance Italy.
“I am very glad to welcome Bruno Scaroni,” Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet said.
“Thanks to his experience in different fields of the insurance sector, he will contribute to the acceleration of the process of transformation and development of the Company.
“I would also like to thank Gian Paolo Meloncelli for his outstanding contribution to the Company. I wish him the best for his future endeavours,” Donnet added.
