Everest hires trio from Beazley, XL and CNA for inland marine

Everest Insurance, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group, has expanded its inland marine team with the hiring of Tom Warner, Mike Lewis and Timothy Janeway.

Warner has been appointed as vice president of inland marine Southeast region, and will be based at the firm’s Atlanta office. He joins Everest from the London-based Lloyd’s company Beazley, where he was the focus group leader for their builder risk and inland marine division. Prior to that, he spent fourteen years with Allianz Global, most recently as director of inland marine with a specific focus on large construction accounts.

Lewis has been appointed senior underwriter, manager of inland marine segment in the Southeast, based in the firm's Tampa office. He joins Everest from XL Catlin, where he was a senior inland marine underwriter. The company said that Lewis’s addition enhances its presence in the Southeast construction marketplace.

Janeway takes the position of senior underwriter, associate manager inland marine segment, based in Chicago. He joins Everest from CNA, where he was a senior inland marine underwriter responsible for the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. Prior to that, he spent two years with Hub International as a business development manager for the Midwest.

Mike Warfield, head of inland marine, commented: "We are excited to be able to add these talented technicians to our already strong bench of underwriting talent. Everest has built quite a footprint in the inland marine space and we look forward to continuing to grow the team to support the needs of our trading partners and insureds. We pride ourselves on providing superior capabilities and differentiated service backed by the financial strength of Everest."

Everest Insurance's inland marine offering includes builder's risk coverage capabilities, installation floaters, contractor's equipment coverage, motor truck cargo liability, warehouseman's legal liability, and fine arts and specie, among others.
