Ed poaches property and casualty director from Arthur J Gallagher
Reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker Ed has appointed James Blacker as managing director of property and casualty.
Blacker will take up the role in December, and report to Chris Bonard, CEO of Ed Specialty.
Blacker joins Ed from Arthur J Gallagher where he served as executive director for the casualty division for over a decade. Prior to this, Blacker served as an associate director for Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) broking large casualty accounts as well as managing and developing the Australasian book of business.
"Ed has increasingly become a magnet for the market’s leading brokers," Bonard commented. "We are committed to fostering an environment which encourages talent, entrepreneurialism and where brokers genuinely act in the interests of our clients.
"James is an excellent addition to our growing team. With his exceptional experience and expertise he is the ideal candidate to spearhead the growth of our property and casualty division. I am delighted to welcome him to the team."
