AXIS Insurance appoints Nance to lead US E&S property business
Bermuda-based AXIS Insurance, a part of AXIS Capital Holdings, has appointed Marc Nance to executive vice president, excess and surplus property. He will be based in AXIS' Chicago office.
Nance replaces the recently retired Chris Endsley, and will report directly to CEO of the US division Carlton Maner.
In his new role, Nance will be responsible for growing and managing AXIS Insurance's E&S property business in the US, including further diversifying the portfolio and developing its strategic broker relationships.
Nance is one of AXIS’ longest-tenured employees, having joined the company in January 2003 following its acquisition of Combined Specialty Insurance Company.
He previously served as executive vice president, US property, after having joined AXIS as a senior vice president, E&S property. He began his career at The Hartford, and also held various management-level retail and commercial property insurance roles at Lexington Insurance Company (now part of AIG), AIG and Chubb.
"Marc is uniquely qualified to lead and grow our E&S Property business," Maner commented. "He brings a wealth of commercial property insurance experience and knowledge to the role, as well as a deep understanding of AXIS’ business. Under his leadership, we expect that AXIS will continue to build upon what is already a balanced and high-quality book of business."
