AXA equitable head moves to AIG despite promotion
AXA executive Todd Solash has left the company a month after being promoted to join the American International Group (AIG) as president, individual retirement.
Solash has replaced the current president of individual retirement Robert Scheinerman, who has become president, group retirement.
Both Solash and Scheinerman will report directly to Jana Greer, president and CEO, individual and group retirement, at AIG.
Solash was recently promoted at AXA Equitable from the role of head of individual annuity business, to lead a new legacy book management business unit based in the US. Prior to AXA, Solash was a partner in the insurance practice of Oliver Wyman.
In his new role at AIG, Solash will have responsibility for the growth and management of the individual retirement business, including product manufacturing, market strategy and operations. He will be based in Woodland Hills, California.
In his new capacity, Scheinerman will spearhead the continued expansion of VALIC, AIG's group retirement business. He will continue to be based in Houston.
Greer commented: "The goal of our individual and group retirement businesses is to serve our clients and distribution partners with diligence, innovative solutions and care, helping millions of Americans to achieve financial security in retirement.
"In today's economic, market and regulatory environment, it is essential that our industry-leading retirement businesses benefit from experienced executives like Rob and Todd, and exceptionally skilled senior management teams who are highly focused on serving our customers and expanding our market leadership."
